Sixth Grade TAG Social Studies:
The first semester of 6th grade TAG Social Studies has a focus on Europe including locations, landforms, and history.  We will cover 11 units this year.  Some of the other units include:  Australia, South America, and Canada.  Each unit will start with a pretest and end with a post test.  Each unit will also include a project that incorporates the knowledge acquired in its study.  During each unit students will create "Random Fact Cards" that we will use to make a class trivia game that is handy for unit review.

Seventh GradeTAG Language Arts:
In TAG language arts we will do a lot of novel-based learning.  We start the year with the mystery novel And Then There Were None.  Then we will move on to the Suzanne Collins' novel The Hunger Games.  Next semester we will explore The Miracle Worker which is the story of Helen Keller's remarkable life.  The last part of the year will involve a full research paper with outline, rough draft, sources, note cards, and bibliography.  On-going activities for the year will include warm-ups of grammar skills, sentence diagramming, and vocabulary from the Joy of Vocabulary.
